The invention relates to a heat exchanger, in particular an exhaust gas cooler or charge air cooler, comprising a disk stack (2) consisting of several elongated disk pairs (32), wherein two mutually connected disks (18,18') each form a first fluid channel (4) between them and a second fluid channel (30) is formed between two disk pairs, wherein the disks of a disk pair are configured U-shaped with a bottom and upstanding side walls and lie one on top of the other to delimit the first flow channel, wherein one of the disks of a disk pair has a tab at its end face which serves for flanging around the end face of the other disk, characterized in that the flanging of the tab is performed at the bottom of the disk and the flanging of the tab also extends into the side walls of the disks.
