Device and method for applying a sealing profile

The invention relates to a device for applying a sealing profile (11) to a surface (28), comprising a handling device (14) for moving and guiding a guide head (16) in an application position in order to apply the sealing profile along a defined contour on the surface (28), wherein in connection with the guide head (16) a feed device (20a,b) is arranged in order to supply the sealing profile (11) to the surface (28) with compression. The guide head has a guide element (26) for guiding the sealing profile, which guide profile (26) in the application position can be oriented at an acute angle relative to the surface and counter to the direction of movement of the guide head relative to the surface, in order to transfer the sealing profile to the surface without the interposition of a driven application roller, and in that on the guide head (16) a non-driven pressure element (44), in particular a pressure roller, is arranged, which pressure element is designed to rest in the application position by means of a spring device (48) under pretension against the sealing profile (11) transferred to the surface (28).
