The invention relates to an internal combustion engine with internal engine exhaust heat recovery, with at least two cylinders which are coupled with their power transmission elements to a common crankshaft, wherein at least one cylinder is operated as a combustion cylinder (3) with a combustion process and the exhaust gas is discharged therefrom in an exhaust manifold (8), the heat thereby generated from an exhaust gas being transferred by means of at least one heat exchanger to a working medium for its evaporation in a closed working medium cycle process, and at least one cylinder is operated as a steam cylinder (4) with working medium vapor. According to the invention, at least one heat exchanger (WT2) is integrated into the wall of an exhaust manifold (8) in such a manner that one or more flow channels (20) for the working medium are arranged in the wall (19).
