The present invention relates to a child safety seat (1), where the child safety seat comprises a seat shell (2) being divided into a sitting portion (3), a backrest portion (4) and a headrest portion (5), where one or more of said portions (3,4,5) furthermore is being provided with protective walls at least along a part of their lengths, where a stiff foam material (C) is arranged at least on an inside of the seat shell and supported thereby, where the stiff foam material (C) at least over a part of each of the protective side walls is provided with at least one through-going opening (O), in which at least one through-going opening a softer foam material (D) is arranged, the softer foam material (D) being a compressible resilient foam material.
