UNIVERSAL TIRE PRESSURE SENSOR
DRIVE
February 10, 2016
A tire pressure sensor for motor vehicles with a housing (1) in which an integrated circuit (sensor IC) (2) with a microcontroller (3) and a pressure sensor (4) is accommodated. Means (6, 9; 7, 10) for wireless communication are furthermore provided, which are coupled with the microcontroller (3) in order to transmit pressure measurement values detected by means of the pressure sensor (4) to a remote receiving device. The sensor IC (2) has an internal memory in which executable instructions and data can be stored, which upon execution cause the acquisition and transmission of pressure measurement data. A voltage supply (12) is likewise arranged in the housing (1) and coupled with the sensor IC (2). The sensor IC (2) is furthermore coupled with an additional memory module (15) arranged in the housing (1), wherein a plurality of different data packets with respective instructions or data are stored in the memory module. The additional memory module (15) can be controlled by the microcontroller (3) in order to copy a selected data packet into the internal memory of the sensor IC, whereby the additional memory module is coupled to the microcontroller of the sensor IC via a serial data interface.
