The invention relates to a lighting arrangement for a motor vehicle (10) with at least one light source (28) for emitting light (36), which can be reflected on a surface (24) of a motor vehicle component (16) into a field of view of an observer of the surface (24). By means of a bezel, the light source (28) is hidden from the observer. The bezel comprises at least one light exit area (34). A geometric figure that can be displayed by means of the reflected light (36) on the surface (24) has size ratios which correspond to size ratios of a contour predetermined by the at least one light exit area (34) of the light (36) exiting the bezel during operation of the lighting arrangement. Furthermore, the invention relates to a method for operating such a lighting arrangement.
