DEVICE AND METHOD FOR MOUNTING/REMOVING TYRES OF TRAM VEHICLES AND THE LIKE

The present invention relates to a device (1) for mounting/dismounting a tire (2) of a tramway wheel (3) fitted with a rim (4) ensuring the connection between the two flanks (5) of said tire (2) and the tramway, and a plurality of segments (8) fixed around the rim (4), said device (1) being remarkable in that it comprises: - a base (10), - a first frame (11) articulated to said base (10) up to a second position in which said longitudinal axis (14) forms an acute angle ± with the base (10), - a chuck (13) mounted sliding on the first frame (11) along its longitudinal axis (14) and arranged to secure and rotate the wheel (3), - a second frame (18) comprising two bars (19) being movable to a deployed position in which they are arranged to allow an operator to access the segments (8).
