"textContent": "The invention relates to a method for warning traffic participants who are passing a stationary vehicle, wherein the vehicle comprises at least one sensor device that captures the vehicle's surroundings and the at least one sensor device for capturing the vehicle's surroundings detects at least a partial area of traffic activity in the vehicle's external space. According to the invention, it is proposed that the captured partial area in turn distinctly covers at least the areas of the vehicle's surroundings facing the flowing traffic as first sub-areas (13), as well as the respectively laterally adjacent areas not facing the flowing traffic as second and third sub-areas (14, 15). It is further provided that the at least one sensor device capturing the vehicle's surroundings generates at least one data stream and transfers it to an evaluation unit (8, 8'), the evaluation unit (8, 8') analyzes the data stream for moving objects (2.1 - 2.6, 6.1 - 6.3) and that upon occurrence of a moving object (6.1, 6.2) in the first sub-areas and the simultaneous occurrence of a moving object (2.3, 2.4, 2.5) in the second and/or third sub-areas (14, 15), the evaluation unit (8, 8') controls a warning device (16.1, 16.2, 16.4, 16.5) in such a manner that it emits an acoustically and/or optically perceptible warning signal at least for pedestrians or cyclists.",
