ROTARY FEED-THROUGH FOR A MOTOR VEHICLE WHEEL

DRIVE December 9, 2015
Source
A rotary union for a motor vehicle wheel with tire pressure regulation comprises a wheel carrier and a wheel hub rotatably mounted on the wheel carrier. In an intermediate space between the wheel carrier and the wheel hub, a compressed air annular chamber (21) and at least one lubricant annular chamber (22) are formed, which are sealed off from one another. The compressed air annular chamber (21) communicates with a compressed air duct of the wheel carrier and with a compressed air duct of the wheel hub, wherein the compressed air duct of the wheel hub communicates with a controllable valve in order to selectively inflate or deflate a tire of the motor vehicle wheel with compressed air. The lubricant annular chamber (22) in turn communicates with a lubricant duct of the wheel carrier and with a lubricant duct of the wheel hub, wherein the lubricant duct of the wheel hub leads to a control port of the valve in order to selectively control the valve to allow passage of compressed air.
