The child transport device comprises a main body (4), which comprises a safety harness (25) adapted to attach the child to the main body (4). In the vehicle configuration, a front portion (6) of the main body (4) is adapted to be supported by a first support element (40, 46, 48, 68), and a rear portion (8, 10) of the main body (4) is adapted to be supported by a second support element (64, 49), the main body being adapted to be tensioned, such that it when tensioned bridges a distance between the first and second support elements.
