The invention relates to a method for controlling an electromagnetic pressure control valve for pressure regulation in a high-pressure accumulator of a fuel injection system of an internal combustion engine, in particular in a common-rail injection system. According to the invention, a pulse-width-modulated signal is used to control the electromagnetic pressure control valve, the frequency of which is varied as a function of at least one operating parameter of the internal combustion engine.
