The present invention provides an item of aircraft furniture 100, comprising an attachment mechanism 120 comprising an attachment element 122 moveable between a mated position, where it mates with a corresponding mating element connected to the floor of the aircraft, and an unmated position, and an integrated locking mechanism 130 comprising a locking element 132 moveable between a locking position, where it locks the attachment element 122 in the mated position, and an unlocking position. Preferably, the locking element is caused to move from the unlocking to the locking position by the action of moving a moveable element 111 of the item of aircraft furniture from a first to a second position, in which the item of aircraft furniture is useable. The invention also provides an aircraft comprising an item of aircraft furniture and a method of installing and a method of removing an item of aircraft furniture.
