Lumbar support for seat backrests, with a support plate (10) which is held with tension members (12) between two frame legs (14) of the backrest and has on each side at least one attachment point (22) for the respective tension member (12), and with an adjustment device (24) for adjusting the tension of the tension members (12), characterized in that the distance between the attachment points (22; 22') is adjustable and the adjustment device (24) is designed to change this distance.
