The object of the invention is a piece of furniture (12) comprising four feet (18-1, 18-2) front and (18-3, 18-4) rear equipped with means of displacement, the rear means of displacement (20-2) being equipped with means (28) of operation, retractable, characterized in that the means (28) of operation comprise at least one castor (22), carried by a shaft (30) defining an axis XX' and mounted free in rotation, the ends of said shaft carrying eccentrics (36) each with a pin (38) integral with the rear feet (18-3, 18-4), defining an axis YY' positioned towards the front relative to the axis XX' of such that said means of displacement can take a stable retracted position and an unstable protruding position.
