This device (D) comprises two protection partitions (CP1-CP2) installed respectively behind the driver and passenger seat(s), and two pairs of rods (BC1-BC2) comprising lower ends, rotatably secured respectively to the seat frames (BA1-BA2) of an associated pair, and upper ends. Each of the protection partitions (CP1-CP2) comprises a lower part, coupled to the upper ends of the rods (BC1-BC2) of an associated pair, and an upper part, rotatably secured to a part (TT) of the vehicle roof, in order to be driven in rotation with respect to this part (TT) in case of translation of the associated pair of seat frames (BA1-BA2) with respect to the corresponding pair of rails (GL1-GL2).",
