"textContent": "Method for operating an active suspension system (11) of a motor vehicle (1), wherein from sensor data of at least one forward-looking environmental sensor (5a, 5b) of the motor vehicle (1), a height profile variable describing unevennesses (17) of the roadway (3) lying ahead of the motor vehicle (1) to be compensated is determined for controlling at least one actuator (14) influencing the position of the vehicle body, wherein at least one reference profile (10) describing the non-compensated height progression of the roadway (3) is determined from currently recorded sensor data of the environmental sensors (5a, 5b) describing a preview range (7) of the roadway (3) ahead of the motor vehicle (1) and from historical sensor data describing a roadway section already traversed by the motor vehicle (1), wherein the height profile variable is determined from a difference between the reference profile (10) and the height profile (8) described by the sensor data for at least a portion of the preview range (7).",
