Motor vehicle with an airbag between a wheel and the car body and airbag unit

A motor vehicle comprising a passenger compartment inside a car body, a plurality of wheels outside the passenger compartment, and an airbag unit comprising at least one airbag (24) enclosing at least one chamber and at least one inflator for inflating said at least one chamber is described. In order to prevent the wheel from intruding into the passenger compartment, said at least one airbag (24) is located between a wheel and said car body. A suitable, sturdy airbag for this an other applications is proposed. This airbag (24) is made of a hose (26) extending from a first end (26a) to a second end (26b), said hose (26) comprising a one-pieced woven hose element (28) extending from the first end (26a) to the second end (26b) (Fig. 3).
