The invention relates to a method for controlling a junction valve (103) of a compressor pumping limitation circuit (100) of an engine, the circuit (100) conveying a flow of compressed air from a compressor (70) to a tap (102) on an exhaust gas reintroduction line (40) substantially in the vicinity of the outlet of its dedicated cylinder (14), the valve (103) being located at the inlet of said circuit (100) by allowing or preventing the passage of compressed air. The control of the junction valve (103) is carried out by at least one opening variable of the junction valve (103) determined as a function of the engine speed.
