A vehicle (10) instrument panel assembly (12) that includes a light-pipe (40) configured to guide light emitted from a light source (28) to a location on the assembly (12) remote from the light source (28). The light-pipe (40) is advantageously cut from a sheet of light-transmissive material using a laser (62).
