The invention relates to a cooling device (1) for a reciprocating internal combustion engine (2). The reciprocating internal combustion engine (2) is suitable for operation with at least one gas. The cooling device (1) comprises a tank (3) for liquefied natural gas (12). Furthermore, the cooling device comprises a pump (4) for conveying the liquefied natural gas (12) from the tank (3). The cooling device (1) comprises a first heat exchanger (5), into which the liquefied natural gas (12) and a cooling fluid can be conveyed. In the first heat exchanger (5), the cooling fluid can be cooled for cooling the reciprocating internal combustion engine by means of the liquefied gas. The liquefied natural gas (12) can be heated to a supply temperature by means of the cooling fluid, such that the liquefied natural gas (12) can be converted into the at least one gas and conveyed into the reciprocating internal combustion engine.
