The assembly formed by the hub and the spokes is mounted in the rim under compression stress of the spokes, so as to produce by buckling effect a bending of the spokes curving them and axially offsetting the plane of the hub relative to that of the rim. The assembly can thus take two stable positions according to the direction of bending of the spokes, with a deployed position with widened track and a folded position with reduced track. It is sufficient to apply an external mechanical force on the rim, in one direction or the other, to reverse the direction of bending of the spokes, and thus to move from the deployed position to the folded position or vice versa.",
