A flexible sun protection system is proposed which consists of a roof element (1) located in a vehicle roof and a sun blind (3) arranged below the roof element, wherein the vehicle roof has at least longitudinal rails (9) for the sun blind (3) and the sun blind is displaceable in the direction of the vehicle longitudinal axis. The sun protection system has at least one additional guide device (5, 7, 8) along the longitudinal axis of the vehicle.
