Data comprising an expected date and time of return to work is obtained from the output of a user interface and used to calculate an expected duration of immobilization of the electric work vehicle. A charge rate is determined based on the expected duration of immobilization of the work vehicle and a targeted charge increase. A charging start time is calculated such that at the return to work time an actual state of charge of the battery is a target operational state of charge value. The temperature of the battery is adjusted such that the battery is at a target temperature at the charging start time. The charge cycle is started at the charging start time.",
