The invention relates to an arrangement of an automobile vehicle air conditioning system (1), comprising an enclosure (2) containing one or more heat exchangers, ventilation means (4) for drawing in air and forcing its circulation in this enclosure (2) through the heat exchangers. The enclosure (2) is backed against and fixed to a wall (7) of a central zone of the lower portion of the vehicle body, being at least locally spaced from this wall (7) so as to define together with this wall (7) a transverse air supply duct towards the ventilation means (4).
