"textContent": "A mechanical steering lock for vehicles, comprising a lock cylinder (10) with a key channel (12) into which a key can be inserted in a locked position in order to release the lock cylinder (10), and which, after release from the locked position, is rotatable over at least two defined angular rotation ranges (I, II, III), each of which leads to one of several defined operating positions (1, 2), and a locking bolt which is movably supported in the steering lock in order to be translationally moved between a first position in which it engages in a locking ring on a steering column in order to prevent its rotation, and a second position in which it is completely disengaged from the locking ring. The locking bolt is mechanically coupled to the lock cylinder (10) such that the rotation of the lock cylinder (10) into one of the several defined operating positions (1, 2) causes the movement of the locking bolt from the first position into the second position, wherein the rotation of the lock cylinder (10) over at least two of the defined angular rotation ranges (I, II, III) causes the movement of the locking bolt from the first position into the second position.",
