VISION SYSTEM

Vision system (50) for a vehicle, with a recording unit attached to the vehicle (10) having at least one recording device (52), a computing unit (58), and a display unit (60), wherein the recording device (52) is adapted to capture a recording area (21, 22, 23) behind the vehicle (10), which contains at least one substantially undistorted rearward-directed recording area (21) behind the vehicle and a substantially downward-directed recording area (22) behind the vehicle, and wherein the vision system (50) is adapted to extract from the recording area (21, 22, 23) a first image (62) corresponding to the undistorted recording area (21) and to extract a second image (63) corresponding to the downward-directed recording area (22), and to display on the display unit (60) the first image (61) in an upper image area (64) and the second image (62) in a lower image area (66).
