  "textContent": "A method for retrofitting a vehicle seat (1) of a motor vehicle is disclosed, wherein the vehicle seat to be retrofitted has separate cushions for a headrest (4) and a backrest (3), and the headrest has a cushion support (5) arranged in the cushion. A gap between the headrest and backrest of the original seat is spanned by exposed support struts, so that the cushion support is coupled to a support structure of the vehicle seat for absorbing applied forces. A covering of the original cushion of the headrest is removed, as is an original cushion of the headrest, in order to at least partially expose the cushion support arranged therein. A retrofit cushion (6) is applied to the exposed cushion support, wherein the retrofit cushion is differently shaped compared to the original cushion, and wherein the retrofit cushion encloses the cushion support and the support struts. The retrofit cushion is shaped and positioned such that direct contact of the retrofit cushion with the backrest is established between the backrest and the retrofit cushion along the upper backrest. Subsequently, the backrest and the retrofit cushion are covered with a retrofit covering.",
