Road paver (1) with a pushing device (4) that has at least one docking assembly (7) and at least one damper unit (8), wherein the damper unit (8) is fastened to the chassis (5) of the road paver (1) and has at least one piston-cylinder unit (10) that has a cylinder (11) and a working piston (12) that is displaceable therein, which divides the piston-cylinder unit (10) into at least a first and a second chamber and is coupled with the docking assembly (7), wherein the docking assembly (7) can be positioned by the displaceably mounted working piston (12) relative to the chassis (5) between a push-out position and at least one push-in position, wherein in the piston-cylinder unit (10) at least one flow channel (21) is provided between the first and the second chamber for flow-through of a fluid (13) enclosed in the piston-cylinder unit (10), wherein the fluid (13) is prestressed in the push-out position.
