The decoupler includes a pulley, a hub, a wrap spring clutch, an isolation spring, and a carrier that is positioned to hold an end of the wrap spring clutch and an end of the isolation spring. The carrier has a slot for holding the end of the wrap spring clutch and wherein the slot has a slot exit through which the wrap spring clutch exits from the slot to wrap around an exterior of the carrier. The carrier has a bridge configured to fail before the end wall fails. This permits the carrier to open radially so as to bring the end wall into abutment with a wall of the pulley reducing stress in the end wall.",
