In a steering device, a restriction member 70 urged by an urging member 80 restricts rotation of an inner tube 11 when the restriction member 70 is at an inserted position at which the restriction member 70 is inserted into a second opening 52 of the inner tube 11 through a first opening 51 of an outer tube 12. When the inner tube 11 moves to contract a steering column 8 upon a secondary collision, a driving edge portion 55 of the second opening 52 drives the restriction member 70 to a position at which the restriction member 70 is retracted from the second opening 52 against the urging member 80.
