The condensate drain comprises a valve unit(8), which is provided downstream of the fluid receptacle chamber for opening and closing the outlet, as well as a control unit(10), which is adapted to control the valve unit on the basis of the fluid level measured by the fluid level sensor. The condensate drain according to the present invention includes a sensor chamber(4), which is in fluid communication with the fluid receptacle chamber.
