A portable electronic device (PED) holder (106) for being mounted to a structure such as a passenger seat backrest (100). In embodiments, the PED holder (106) includes a socket (114), a hollow partial-cylinder (112) rotatably mounted in the socket, and an adjustable clamp (124) mounted in the hollow partial-cylinder. The hollow partial-cylinder (112) and the socket (114) interact via a guide mechanism configured to control rotation of the hollow partial-cylinder relative to the socket. In embodiments, the adjustable clamp (124) is mounted to a base (126) and includes first and second arms (130,132), at least one of which is spring-loaded to hold a PED. In some embodiments, an electromagnetic induction coil (128) may be disposed in the base.
