Described and illustrated is a refrigerated structure (1) of a commercial vehicle (N), in particular a truck, trailer or semi-trailer, having a wall element (4) and/or ceiling element (3), a temperature control unit (8) mounted on the wall element (4) or ceiling element (3) and projecting into a cargo hold (7) of the refrigerated structure (1), and a protective frame (10) projecting into the cargo hold (7) of the refrigerated structure (1) for protecting the temperature control unit (8), wherein the temperature control unit (8) has a housing (9) and the protective frame (10) is provided at least substantially outside of the housing (9). In order for the cargo hold to be less restricted and at the same time for the temperature control unit to be safely protected from damage, it is provided that the housing (9) has at least one recess (16) open toward the cargo hold (7) for at least partial and at least sectional accommodation of the protective frame (10).
