The invention relates to a vehicle pneumatic tire (1), in particular for passenger cars, having two side flanks (3) which enclose between them a jacket-shaped ground contact surface (4) of the tread (5) that can be brought into contact with the road surface, wherein at a height (H) of 75% - 100% of each side flank an off-shoulder (6) is arranged, measured from the height of the rim shoulder (7) of the tire (1) mounted on a rim (2) and having operating pressure in the direction of the ground contact surface (4). In the surface of at least one off-shoulder (6), a technically effective structure of grooves (8) running circumferentially around the circumference of the off-shoulder (6) is recessed, whereby the grooves (8) are arranged parallel to one another and spaced apart from one another and whereby the grooves (8) have a rounded groove bottom (9).
