This method makes it possible to control an actuator control system of an aircraft to act on a force applied to the aircraft. The aircraft has an airspeed vector and a ground speed vector, and it comprises an engine and an engine control system, forming a first actuator control system, for varying a thrust force generated by the engine. The method comprises determining (130) a thrust variation to servo a quantity relative to the aircraft with respect to a setpoint, and developing (140) a first control signal intended for the engine control system to obtain said thrust variation, and transmitting said first control signal to said engine control system. The servoed quantity is an acceleration according to a direction carried by a speed vector among the airspeed vector and the ground speed vector, and the setpoint is an acceleration setpoint according to said direction.
