POWER DISTRIBUTION SYSTEM FOR LOW-FREQUENCY AC OUTLETS

DRIVE November 11, 2015
Source
A power distribution system (101) in which a power source (102) is configured to supply an amount of high-frequency input power to a centralized frequency converter unit (103). The centralized frequency converter unit (103) is configured to convert the high-frequency input power into low-frequency converted power. Passenger Electronic Device Controllers (104) receive the converted power and distribute it to outlet units (105). Power management functions may be integrated with the distribution system (101). For instance, the centralized frequency converter unit (102) can cause to be disabled unused outlet units (105) when the power drawn by the used outlet units (105) exceeds a predetermined threshold.
