A pneumatic tire (7) is disclosed comprising a reinforcing ply structure (105) extending between a pair of annular bead portions (110); a pair of sidewalls, wherein each sidewall is located radially outward of one of the pair of bead portions (110); a tread radially outward from the reinforcing ply structure; a belt reinforcing structure located radially outward from the reinforcing ply structure and radially inward from the tread; and an innerliner structure (101) extending along an inner surface (106) of the reinforcing ply structure (105) preferably from a position adjacent one bead portion (110) to a position adjacent the other bead portion (110). The innerliner structure (101) comprises a plurality of alternating layers of rubber compound and tire sealant material.
