LATCHING FRAME FOR A SIGN

A number plate frame (10) grips a number plate (13) by the edge, and is snapped closed. A release mechanism (61) is beneath the face of the number plate, and can be accessed only by destroying the plate, for example by cutting a hole therethrough. The invention provides a secure means of retaining a number plate without obscuring the face thereof, and ensures readability by automatic number plate recognition systems.
