The invention relates to a support device (10) for a headrest with a support tube (11) to which a head support part can be fastened, with at least one free end region (12a, 12b) for mounting the support device (10) in a mounting device which is associated with a vehicle seat, wherein at least one sleeve (15) is arranged in the support tube (11) in order to reinforce at least one region (25) of the support tube (11). The special feature consists in that in a first circumferential partial region (T1) an outer surface (16) of the sleeve (15) is in contact with an inner surface (17) of the support tube (11) and in that in a second circumferential partial region (T2) the outer surface (16) has a recess (23) into which a projection (22) protruding over the inner surface (17) extends.
