DRIVE July 8, 2015
Source
Compressed air brake system for a motor vehicle trailer (A) which is coupable to a traction vehicle (Z) via a drawbar (D) and electrically connectable to the traction vehicle (Z) via an electrical coupling (E) and has pneumatically actuated wheel brakes, wherein the compressed air brake system is designed as an autonomous brake system with respect to the traction vehicle (Z), which has its own compressed air supply system comprising a drivable compressor (11) and a compressed air reservoir (13) supplied by it, and which has a trailer brake valve (30) connected between the compressed air reservoir (13) and the wheel brakes (21,22), the actuation of which takes place as a function of a control variable or control force, which in turn is generated by a control signal corresponding to the respective braking requirement, which is generated partly or entirely by the trailer itself or is transmitted from the traction vehicle to the trailer.
