GAS GENERATOR

A gas generator (1A) includes a bottom plate part (11) which is a part of a housing, a substantially cylindrical cup-shaped member (50) accommodating a transfer charge (56), a hollow cylindrical filter (90) accommodated in the housing, and an annular first pad member (70) situated in a part on the side of the bottom plate part (11) of a combustion chamber (60). The cup-shaped member (50) is arranged to project toward inside the combustion chamber (60), and has a first extension part (53) extending outwardly in the radial direction from a part on the side of an open end along the inner bottom face of the bottom plate part (11). The first pad member (70) has a second extension part (71) extending inwardly in the radial direction from an abutting part (72) abutting on the inner circumferential face of the filter (90) along the inner bottom face of the bottom plate part (11). By sandwiching and retaining the first extension part (53) between the bottom plate part (11) and the second extension part (71), the cup-shaped member (50) is fixed to the bottom plate part (11).
