Identification plates

A method of forming a number plate, the method comprising the steps of: a) providing a substrate having a first and second major surface; b) securing to the first major surface of the substrate a sheet material having a thickness of at least 0.25mm and preferably at least 0.5mm; c) forming (e.g. cutting) the shape of indicia from the sheet material; d) removing excess sheet material from around the formed indicia; and preferably further comprising a step e), which occurs sequentially with or subsequent to step c), and which comprises cutting into the substrate.
