The invention relates to a lighting device (1) for a motor vehicle headlight, wherein the lighting device (1) comprises an optically relevant assembly unit (10), which assembly unit (10) is pivotable about two mutually perpendicular pivot axes (H, V) in a housing (100), wherein for pivoting about each of the axes (H, V) a drive (20, 30) is respectively provided, wherein the two drives (20, 30) are fixedly arranged in the housing (100), wherein the first drive (20) for pivoting the assembly unit (10) about the first axis (H) comprises or drives a linear drive element (21), which linear drive element (21) is articulatingly connected to the assembly unit (10) by means of a joint (22), and wherein furthermore a drive element (40) is provided, which drive element (40) has at least one bearing point (41, 42), preferably two bearing points (41, 42), in which at least one bearing point (41, 42) the assembly unit (10) is pivotably mounted about the first axis (H), and wherein the drive element (40) is mounted pivotable in a plane normal to the second axis (V) about this second axis (V) in the housing (100), and wherein the at least one bearing point (41, 42) is designed such that upon rotation of the drive element (40) about the second axis (V) the assembly unit (10) is rotated together with the drive element (40), and wherein the second drive (30) rotates the drive element (40) about the second axis (V).
