The invention relates to a device and a method for controlling a diesel pump with a rotor during zero delivery. According to the invention, in a state of zero delivery, the diesel pump is controlled to deliver a predetermined volume. Furthermore, the diesel pump is stopped at a predetermined position of the rotor as soon as the desired quantity of fuel has been delivered.
