The present invention relates to an assembly (1) for forming an air guide element (2) for a motor vehicle, comprising a shell-shaped air guide body (3) and a brake light (4), wherein the air guide body (3) has an elongated opening (5) extending through the air guide body (3), wherein for forming the air guide element (2) the elongated opening (5) can be at least partially closed by a light exit surface (6) of the brake light (4) by arranging the brake light (4) in a predetermined brake light position, wherein at least one holding element (8) is formed on a holding side (7) of an air guide body section (3') of the air guide body (3) and at least one counter-holding element (10) is formed on a holding side (9) of the brake light (4), wherein for holding the air guide body (3) on the brake light (4) in the predetermined brake light position the holding element (8) can be connected with the counter-holding element (10). According to the invention, a support element (11) is provided for supporting the air guide body (3) on an adjacent component (12, 12') of the motor vehicle, wherein the support element (11) is designed such that the holding element (8) and the counter-holding element (10) can be connected to one another via the support element (11).
