The invention relates to an overhead contact line system with ceiling current rails (1, 16) which are each fixed in their central region by a fixed point to a structure (14) and are otherwise connected to the structure (14) via movable support point arms (11). It is provided that at least one of the ceiling current rails (1, 16) has on its upper side a cross member (2), from which two downward-directed clamping arms (8) for holding a messenger wire (9) extend at connection points, and that the cross member (2) has on both sides of the connection points of the clamping arms (8) conically tapered formations (3) which can be inserted into corresponding recesses (4) of a clamping fitting (5).
