A holding apparatus 60 for fuel cell gasket which serves to stack a frame-shaped gasket 40 (45) on an outer circumference 31 of an electrolyte membrane 30 or a gas diffusion layer which constitutes a membrane electrode assembly of a fuel cell and on which a catalyst layer 32 (33) is disposed, and has a support 65 having a flat surface part 70 which attracts the gasket 40 (45). The flat surface part 70 has a frame-shaped recess corresponding to a shape of the gasket 40 (45), and the recess is connected to an air-sucking section 85, and the gasket 40 (45) is attracted by sucking air in the recess.
