Assembly for the suspension of a contact wire

In an arrangement for suspending a contact wire (1) of electric railways by means of a suspension rope (2), which connects the contact wire (1) to a support rope (3) by means of at least one suspension clamp (4, 6) and at least one thimble (5, 7), the suspension rope (2) is formed into a loop by means of a press or crimping sleeve (8, 9) and the loop is guided over the thimble (5, 7). Between the press or crimping sleeve (9) and the thimble (7), a brake shoe (10, 20, 30) is arranged in a displaceable manner, which has braking surfaces adapted to the thimble (7), so that by displacing the brake shoe (10, 20, 30) against the thimble (7), the suspension rope (2) is clamped between the thimble (7) and the brake shoe (10, 20, 30). This makes installation possible provisionally without crimping the sleeves.
