Seal assembly for a steering column opening

For sealing the steering column opening in a body metal sheet located between the passenger compartment and engine compartment, an assembly consists of at least one steering column support bearing (1), at least one body metal sheet flange (4), and at least one elastomer suspension (5), by means of which the steering column support bearing (1) is suspended from the body metal sheet flange (4). The body metal sheet flange (4) is extended in a housing-like manner to at least one reducer piece (6) configured specifically for the respective vehicle series, whereby the elastomer suspension (5) is designed at least partially as a universal mounting suspension independent of vehicle series. With the elastomer suspension (5), at least two damping chambers (9, 10) located between the reducer piece (6) and the steering column support bearing (1) are formed.
