Pneumatic tire (2) for a bicycle wheel comprising a casing (21) and two beads (6) and having the shape of an open torus with an interior volume; at least one of the beads having a shoulder (65) and a bead wire (67); the shoulder being placed, according to a radial plane, at a first end of the bead, and comprising on its outer surface a first bearing surface (653) and a rim (654), said first bearing surface being placed between the rim and the casing, and said bearing surface being set back with respect to said rim; said bead wire comprising a second bearing surface (673) placed on the inner side; the longitudinal modulus of the bead is less than 2000 MPa and the transverse modulus of the bead is greater than 50 MPa.
